Mrs. Grace L. Wilson, age 91 of Crockett, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the Community Care Center in Crockett. Mrs. Wilson was born January 3, 1915 in Sulphur Bluff and had lived in Crockett most of her lifetime. Mrs. Wilson was retired and had worked as a nursery worker, and was the first paid nursery worker for the Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was a 50-year member of Central Baptist Church and was also a member of Esther Sunday School Class for a number of years.
Survivors include her daughters Gaye McDonald, of Weldon, Kaye Parish and husband Buddy, of Crockett and Doris Taylor, of Va.; sons Don Wilson and Mary, of Lufkin, Mike Wilson and wife Jean Ann, of Bristo, Okla. and Larry Wilson and wife Diane, of Huntsville; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers George Young, of Palestine and Jack Young and wife Sharron, of Pasadena; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her husbands J.W. Wilson and Earl Crist; daughter Annie Belle Taylor; and grandson Ben Wilson.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Grace L. Wilson were held Saturday, March 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church in Crockett with the Rev. John Goss and the Rev. Charles Goodson officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Dr., Lufkin, TX. 75904 or Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85718.
