He is the husband of Roberta Belle Beebe. They were married on July 16, 1944 in Cortland, New York.
Two children were born to this union: one son and one daughter who survive their father.

He was born in Cortland on January 13, 1921, the son of Samuel and Grace Greenfield Chapman, and had been a life long resident of Cortland.
Mr. Chapman was a graduate of Cortland High School, and was employed at O'Shea Tire Service as an accountant for over 25 years. Prior to that, he had been employed at Camp's Meat Packing Plant in Homer.
He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Roberta Beebe Chapman of Cortland; a son, John (Susan) Chapman of Dryden; a daughter, Debra Chapman of Avon Park, Fla.; three brothers, Andrew (Thelma) Chapman, Harold (Katy) Chapman and Thomas (Betty) Chapman; five siters, Mildred (Stanley) Kinney, Helen (Walter) Eshleman, Ruth (Philip) Brooks, Virginia (Emile) Pelky and Mary Miller; three grandchildren, Christoher A. Chapman, Peter J. Chapman and Kelly E.Chapman and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ella Mae Constandy on May 10, 1987.
Services will be held t 11 a.m. Monday, at the Wriht-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, with the Rev. Roger Vanderwerken officiating. Interment will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
