Ella Mae "Jinx" Jenkins, 78, of Gainesville died Friday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Lumpkin County to the late William and Della Mae Hooper Jenkins, she had lived the past 20 years in Hall County. A retired schoolteacher, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth J. McDowell; and brother, William C. Jenkins.

Survivors include her sisters, Ruby Mills, Tallahassee, Fla., and Alice Chapman, Riverdale; and brother, Jonae J. Jenkins, Conyers.
