---Mattie E. Baity, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Spencer, was born September 23, 1863 near La Plata, Missouri and died October 9, 1921.
---She was united in marriage to Mr. John E. Baity of La Plata, Missouri, October 11, 1892. Lacking only two days, they spent twenty-nine years of their happy married life in the home community. Today would have been their wedding anniversary.
---Mrs. Baity made a public announcement of her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of La Plata, May 19, 1889, then being a girl of sixteen.
---In addition to her kind and devoted husband, she leaves from her family relationship, three brothers, Mr. J.B. Spencer of La Plata, Missouri, Mr. F.M. Spencer of Long Beach, California and Mrs. C.A. Spencer of Jefferson City, Missouri, and one sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Reese of Denver, Colorado, a number of nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.
---Funeral services were conducted from the home by the pastor, Rev. E.E. DeLong at 2:00, October 11, 1921. Interment was in La Plata cemetery.
