Charles Evert Criger 64 died today July 30, 1954 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Marys Hospital where he has been a patient since Tuesday morning. In poor health for more than a year, Criger resided at 0114 Iowa where he had been Confined to his home since June.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Swisher Mortuary.

Criger is sirvived by his wife, 11 children three step-children, one sister, two brothers, one half-brother and 30 grandchildren.

Born at Rural Retreat, Va., Criger was 64 on his last birthday, Dec. 22, 1953. He moved to ElDorado in 1908, and then to Winfield in 1937. For the past eight years he had been employed at the Winfield State Training School. He was a member of the Baptist church.

His wife, Jessie E. survives as do 11 children. They are Albert, Robert, William, Mrs. Martha Martin, Mrs. Gloria Hunter, Miss Erma Criger and Mrs. Roberta Sympson, all of Arkansas City; Alvie, and Mrs. Vivian Foust, both of Blackwell; and Mrs. Leona Asbell and Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson, both of Wichita.

Two of the three step-children reside in Winfield. They are James Dobbs and Glenn Dobbs Jr. The third, Mrs. H. O. Wands, lives in Tulsa.

The sister is Mrs. Jim Petty, Potwin, Kans and the two brothers are Allie of Potwin, and Dave of North Carolina. The half-brother is Sam Goodwin of Va.
