Maude Buchholz, 96, died Friday, April 13, 2007 at her daughterÂ's home in Grand Forks, ND. She was surrounded by her family who loved her dearly and take comfort in knowing she is resting in Jesus.

Maude Alice was born June 6, 1910 to Maude & Levi Fuller in OÂ'Neil, NE. She grew up in Emmet NE with 5 brothers and 1 sister. Maude enjoyed teaching for 3 years in a one-room country schoolhouse before she married her sweetheart Emmanuel Â"PeteÂ" Buchholz in Plankinton, SD on May 3, 1932.

They raised their family of 4 children, on farms in South Dakota, Mentor & Fosston MN. They also owned and operated a motel and trailer court together in Fosston until; sadly, Pete lost his battle with cancer in 1973. Maude then bought a home in Thief River Falls, MN, which was always filled with love and laughter from the family, and friends who felt welcome there. She was very active in with her church and community.

Maude was always ready to help wherever she was needed and her nicknames included "Cookie Grandma" & "Lefse Lady". She loved gardening, berry picking, and her crocheted masterpieces and quilts leave behind a legacy to her talent and love. Maude spent the last few years living in the homes of her children and they felt so blessed to have her. She loved watching her great grandchildren at play. Maude was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandma and friend, and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving family members include daughters Dolores (Arthur) Kolden of Middle River, MN and Kathryn (Clarence) Wangsnes of Grand Forks ND, sons, Emmanuel "Bud" (Muriel) Buchholz of Fosston MN and Theodore (Lynda) Buchholz of Norman OK, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, and many nieces & nephews.

Maude was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Pete, brothers Raymond, Edward, Levi, Harold, & Smith, a sister Bessie Wayman, 2 infant grandchildren, grandson Bret Kolden and son-in-law Arthur Kolden.
