Daughter of Alfred & Emma (Gregory) d'Allemand.
Married to Byrel Murphy Lang in 1930 at Litchfield, NE.
Mrs. Lang started the Litchfield Public Library in 1932, serving on the Library Board for over 63 years. She served on the Meridian Library Systems Board, the State Advisory Council to the Library Commission and was later awarded the Nebraska Library Trustee Citation. Mrs. Lang served on the Central Nebraska Community Services Board for ten years. She was listed in Who's Who in Nebraska and Who's Who of American Women. In 1987 she was given the Outstanding Alumni Award from UNK. She was a dedicated educator, teaching her first class in a rural school at the age of 16. She served as Superintendent at Hazard and then taught for 20 years at Ravenna. Mrs. Lang was the Nebraska NEA Director, was on the NSEA board and was twice elected to the State Board of Education. She was appointed to the Professional Practices Commission by Gov. James Exon. Gov. Exon later appointed her to two terms on the State Judicial Nominating Committee. In 1996 she was recognized at the Nebraska Delegates Assembly for her "lifelong service to Nebraska education." She received many other awards throughout her life.
