Leona was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Sherman County to John and Alvena (Bichel) Peterson.
On June 9, 1944, she married Irwin Beck in Kearney.
Survivors are: husband; sons, Jack Beck and his wife, Judy, of Omaha, Gerald Beck and his wife, Pat, and Marvin Beck and his wife, Vicky, all of Litchfield, and Myron Beck and his wife, Mary, of La Cresenta, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Luella Sass of Grand Island; and brother, Dale Peterson of Kearney.
Leona was educated in Sherman County and graduated from Loup City High School.
Leona and Irwin made their home on a farm near Litchfield.
Leona was a member of Litchfield United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and was a 4-H leader. Leona enjoyed gardening and her family.
Leona was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
