Her obituary in the Belleville News Democrat reads:

Bernice R. Berger, nee Dinges, 56, of Lenzburg, died Tuesday, November 16, 1982 at St. Clements Hospital in Red Bud. She was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Lenzburg and the Womens Guild of the church, and Lenzburg Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Dinges.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Berger; a son, Ronald Berger at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sue Ann) Favier of Lenzburg; her mother, Lottie Dinges; a brother, Kenneth Dinges of Baldwin, IL; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Laufer of Baldwin, IL, Mrs. Eileen Koester of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Lela Koester of Mascoutah and Mrs. Georgia Thureau of Ellis Grove, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, November 19 at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Lenzburg. Interment Lenzburg City Cemetery (sic).

Friends may call between 5 and 9 p.m., Thursday, November 18 and until 11 a.m., Friday, at the Hull Funeral Home in New Athens.

Memorials may be made to St. Peters United Church of Christ in Lenzburg.

N.B. Although the obituary mentions Lenzburg City Cemetery, there is only one cemetery in Lenzburg, and that is St. Peter's UCC cemetery a half mile down the route 15 from the houses in Lenzburg.
