David was born to John Chester and Jean (Lowell) Charles on October 14, 1938 in Baxter Springs, Kansas.

Mr. Charles was on vacation in Laramie with his wife of 51 years Geraldine Hunt Charles, when he was called home.

Mr. Charles joined the US Navy in 1959 where he spend 23 years and 9 months, He also taught in the military schools teaching pilot navigators, electronics and math, the last 3 years of teaching he was on the island of Oahu, Hawaii where he taught on submarines

David is survived by his Wife Geraldine, A daughter Carolyn, a son David W Charles (Diane) and four grandchildren, Hannah, Jesse, Alexander, Carmelita, and a one great grandchild who is due to be born soon.

Also survived by 2 Sisters Shirley Hipp and Virginia Woods, One Brother Sam Charles

David was laid to rest with Military honors at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on October 22, 2010
