Dewey James Deeds, 94, a resident at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 22, 2021. after an extended illness.
He was born June 14, 1926, in Jumping Branch, W.Va., the son of the late Charlie C. and Oma C. (Moter) Deeds.
He is survived by two daughters and a son; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Iachini; a grandson, Jamie Walter; and five siblings.
Dewey was a member of the Griffith Creek Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va.
He had worked in the powerline construction industry for 45 years and managed many projects across the United States. Dewey was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater, and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in 1946.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, outdoor activities and spending time with his many friends at the Alderson (W.Va.) Senior Center.
Private services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be made in Jumping Branch Cemetery, W.Va.
