Emma Ruth Allen, 85, of Hinton, left this life to join her Lord and Savior on July 23, 2009 at the Summers County Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness.
Born February 7, 1924 in Summers County she was the daughter of the late Otis Jasper Sims and Tidie Cleo Wilson Sims.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker who enjoyed dancing, sports and spending time with her family and friends, a member of the River Valley Baptist Church and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Jack Clarence Allen; two brothers, Eugene and Earshel Sims and two sisters, Elaine Rudisill and Lois Martin.
She is survived by seven children, Amber Beasley of Hinton, Gary Allen and wife Donna of Richmond, VA, Donna Livesay and husband Clifton of Strasburg, VA, Patricia Paitsel and husband Gilbert of Princeton, Aaron Allen and wife Tammy of Princeton, Jackie Allen and companion Kimberly Morris of Hurricane, WV and Mark Allen and wife Lisa of Beckley; twenty grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballengee.
Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Saturday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
Her grandsons, Christopher Livesay, Craig Paitsel, Keith Paitsel, Brandon Allen, Bryson Allen and Tyler Truman will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or to the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.
