Mrs Mary Laverna Callison, widow of the late Robert Callison, departed this life at the home of her daughter near Tincher, W Va, June 15, 1921, aged 81 years, 5 months and 22 days. She had been afflicted for a number of years with a complication of diseases, which, with the infirmities of age overcame her mortal strength. She expressed herself as ready to go whenever the Lord saw best to call her home. Her oldest son, John W, preceded her to the spirit world. She leaves to mourn their loss five boys - Briggs, James, Bird, Hays and Newton, and four girls, Mrs F B Thomas, Mrs N J Martin, Mrs M E Thomas and Mrs F W Wood, all of whom were present at the funeral except Mrs Wood. The funeral discourse was delivered by Elder A M Frantz at Soul Chapel at 2:30 o'clock pm on June 16th in the presence of a large congregation after which the body was laid to rest in the cemetery nearby.
