"Dartmouth June 10th 1790 there were joined together in marriage Reuben Sherman Junior and Charity Moshier both of Dartmouth by me, Daniel Hix, Elder."
The inscription on Reuben's gravestone is from a hymn by Charles Wesley (1707-1788): "Farewell thou once a mortal, our poor, afflicted friend. Go, pass the heavenly portal to God, thy glorious end. The author of thy being, Hath summoned thee away, and faith is lost in seeing and night in endless day."

Reuben Sherman has another gravestone with his second wife, Adaline Warren, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Blodgett Mills, Cortland Co., New York, and another Findagrave memorial: 93295853
Cortland Rural Cemetery website states that an association was formed in 1853 to purchase land and, after acquiring twelve acres, the Cemetery began by "initially accepting re-burials of over 800 early settlers of Cortland County from nearby smaller burial grounds and churchyard cemeteries."
Was Reuben among those early settlers reburied in Cortland Rural?
