Mrs. Peorus A. Neely, nee Miss Ida Loudon, of Mercersburg, Pa. died in a hospital at Bartow, Florida Friday of last week, after a brief illness. Mr. & Mrs. Neely had gone to Bartow several weeks ago to spend the winter and Mrs. Neely was fatally stricken with a heart attack a day or two before her death. Her daughters were hastily summoned to her bedside and both arrived before the spark of life had fled, Mrs. Grove going by train and Mrs. Edward Kiley by plane. Mrs. Neely was a native of East Waterford, being a daughter of the late James and Susan Louden, of that place and is survived by her husband and two daughters and three sisters, Mrs. J. H. Murphy of Altoona, Mrs. R. B. Hockenberry of New Germantown and Mrs. James B. McMeen of Lewistown. Mrs. Neely was for a number of years a school teacher in the public schools of Pennsylvania and was very successful in that vocation. She was an everyday Christian. The beautiful influences of a pure religion were spread over a life and character as spotless and charming as was ever possessed by any of the noble women who have lived and died during the ages that are passed and gone. As such a life was a blessing and benefaction to all within the sphere of its influence so the death of such a one a public misfortune, as well and an irreparable loss to the home circle made desolate by her departure. It is difficult to pay a fitting tribute to the memory of so noble a woman-one whose everyday life was embellished by the charming and lovable attributes of her sex. A perfect lady at all times-under all circumstances, she seemed to inspire the love and respect of all who were so fortunate as to be acquainted with her. The grief stricken husband and the nurse left Barstow, Fla. on Saturday evening by train with the body for the North and funeral service will be held in the East Waterford Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, after which interment will be made in the East Waterford Cemetery.
