Stuart Albert Mayo, who was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Ennis, died Wednesday at Lookout Pass.

Mr. Mayo, a longtime Butte resident, owned and operated Stu's Television Service for 27 years. In addition to serving in the Marine Corps dur ing World War II and the Korean War, during his early years in Butte, Mr. Mayo worked as a supervisor in the Butte mines and led Explorer Post 77 on numerous area search and rescue operations.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s, Stuart pursued his love of music while per forming with his group " Country Kin" at rodeos and county fairs throughout Montana. He loved to travel and was always happiest on the road, where those he met were better for the experience.

Mr. Mayo is survived by his sons, Albert Mayo and Stepson Michael J. Weldon of Seattle; and brothers, Glenn Mayo of Redlands, Calif., Richard Mayo of Texarkana, Texas, Donald Mayo of San Diego; numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his Ex-wife of 29 years, Eleanor Killian-Weldon Mayo of Seattle, a son, Steven D. Mayo, of Everett, Wash., and a brother, Jack Mayo of Silver Star.
