Ramona Rose Baker, Registered Nurse passing June 05, 2012.

A Great Mother and A Great Nurse.
Of all the many friends and family Ramona had her friends were friends were family. We had all touched her heart, and all these friends and family were there in Ramona's heart the day she left us to be accepted in the Lord's hands. All of us were there in Ramona's heart in her ending life moments. At the time of Ramona leaving she was told of how much we friends and family loved her. We had all touched her heart.

Ramona's greatest joys and loves were babysitting in her retired years. They each one brought much love and joy to Ramona.

Ramona was a graduate of Muskogee High School in 1941 and soon married her first time and a military wife traveling America from station to station. There after Ramona had her first son, later her second son and later her third son.

There after Ramona became a Volunteer Red Cross Certified Swimming Instructor and a Red Cross Certified Water Life Saving Instructor teaching lessons and water safety at Spaulding Park Muskogee City Pool. Later, this would prove in-valuable when Ramona saved the life of a drowned five year old girl on the bottom of a motel swimming pool while on a weekend vacation with her family. Without forethought Ramona dove in, clothes on, and resuscitated the five year old girl back to life and breathing and then waited for the ambulance.

In the coming years Ramona became a Nurse's Aide and worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Muskogee and Muskogee General Hospital as non-pay volunteer work.

Ramona advanced into Licensed Practical Nursing School and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. After several years as a Licensed Practical Nurse working in Muskogee Hospital and Stillwater Oklahoma Hospital, Ramona entered Bacon College of Nursing and graduated with honors in 1969 with the Prestigious Degree of "Registered Nurse", certified, licensed and degreed with the State of Oklahoma. Ramona's graduation picture still resides in the Hall of Become College in Muskogee.

Ramona now Registered Nurse accepted a position as Emergency Room Registered Nurse and Supervisor at Muskogee General Hospital. It is here for the next 8 years Ramona, R.N., saved lives in the Emergency Room of Muskogee General Hospital and treated the injured and sick the citizens of Muskogee and surrounding community with emergency aid. During this time Ramona also Supervisor of Post Surgery and Recovery Ward at the hospital treating and comforting as a nurse to those citizens and patients just coming out of surgery and anesthesia and recovering in hospital.

Ramona continued this time, for the next 14 years as a Registered Nurse with the Wagoner County Health Department. Ramona treated the sick, indigent and elderly citizens of Wagoner County and surrounding areas and community's with Oklahoma State provided Nursing Service and Nursing case.

Ramona advances again, spending an additional 5 years as a Registered Nurse with the Muskogee County Health Department. Ramona traveled the county and surrounding areas and community's, and again treating the sick, indigent and elderly as before within home visitation and professional nursing care. While with Wagoner County and Muskogee County Health Departments Ramona enjoyed nursing to these citizens whose only support and medical care was provided by the Oklahoma State Health Department.

In her life, Ramona enjoyed swimming, living on the lake, boating, and water activity. She enjoyed living on Fort Gibson Lake and enjoyed the many wild animals and birds that were abundant and the beautiful lake front view from her home. Ramona retired back to Muskogee where she enjoyed her home and many friends and their children she babysit for.

Ramona was preceded in life with the loss of a dear Sister, Shirley Hall and her husband Troy Hall of Tulsa, a brother in Law Robert Eversole of Shawnee, Ok., a brother Raymond Sargent of Fort Smith, Ar, and her parents Ray L Sargent and Beth Sargent of Muskogee.
