Mr. Wayne Clark Barrett, 93, died on Monday, February 7, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11 at Forbis & Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. Barrett was born on March 26, 1917 in Michigan to the late Leon and Bernice Clark Barrett. In his younger years he was an avid outdoorsman. Wayne retired from IBEW, Local #58, Detroit, Michigan as a Journeyman Electrician and he was a 32nd degree Mason for more than 70 years. He will be remembered by his five step sons as a wonderful husband to their mother, and father to them. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Alford Barrett. Mr. Barrett is survived his step sons, Billy Jackson of Kernersville, Jerry Jackson and wife Sandy of Virginia, Mike Jackson and wife Cathy of High Point, Jeff Jackson and David Jackson of Pleasant Garden; sister, Beth Squires; grandchildren, Chad Jackson, Brian Jackson, Kim Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Melissa Jackson, Jeremy Jackson and Chas Jackson; six great grandchildren; and nephew, Bobby Squires. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, PO Box 157, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313 or to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405.
