Born December 12, 1917 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Loyd Adkinson and Cora (Reed) Adkinson.
She was retired from Morgan Foods Austin, Indiana She was a member of Austin Christian Church, Ida Rebecca #333, and the Eastern Star #107 in Austin.
She married Emil (Pete) Houchen, who preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Sharon (Daniel) Dienelt, Ft. Wayne, IN. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Rev. David Huey officiating. Visitation: 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 and after 9 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Buchanan Funeral Home. An Ida Rebekah Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Scottsburg Cemetery Scottsburg, IN.
