A heart attack claimed the life of Harold Ralph Kendall September 17, 1978 at 8:25 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Naples 1st Ward Chapel.
Mr. Kendall was born January 21, 1916 in Dixon, Wyoming to Charles Thomas (Tom) Kendall and Lucy Didama Johnson Kendall. He married Mary Mirl Karren December 24, 1935 in Vernal. He was a miner at Bonanza and a member of the LDS Church Naples 1st Ward.
Survivors are his widow of Vernal, two sons and two daughters: Darris Kendall, Vernal; Dalvis H. Kendall, Rangely; Mrs Ervin (Betty) Smuin, Terreton,Idaho; Lula Kendall, Salt Lake City; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, Ivan Kendall Portland, Oregon; one sister, Mrs Mary Atwood, Vernal and a half brother, Tommy Smuin, Terreton, Idaho.
The services were held in the Naples 1st Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Lanny Kay. Family prayer was by Marvin Jackson with prelude and postlude music by Marilyn Smith. The first musical " Oh My Father" was sung by Verdon Goodrich and Norman Haslem accompanied by Norean Morrill.
Earl Gurr gave the invocation. Speakers were Bishop Kay who read the obituary and Ashel Manwaring. Songs were "Abide With Me", "Tis Eventide" by the Naples Choir and " In The Garden" by Perry and Verdon Goodrich accompanied by Mrs. Merrill. Todd Atwood pronounced the benediction.
Pallbearers were Kevin Smuin, Craig Smuin, Robert Hazelbush, Mark Berrett, Karl Don Karren and Clifford Atwood. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park with the services and burial under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary. Acel Rowley dedicated the grave. The floral tributes were under the direction of the Naples Ward Relief Society.
