Rachel E. Corwin was born in Sep 1847 in Sanford, Broome Co, NY, the daughter of Alfred Corwin, Jr and his first wife Abigail LNU.

Her mother died when she was just eleven months old and in 1850 she is 2 years old and we find her living with her paternal grandparents, Alfred Corwin, Sr and Rachel LNU; while her father and step-mother, Mary "Polly" B. Bond, live just down the road with their new two month old baby daughter Mary.

In 1860 she is enumerated in the household of her paternal uncle David Corwin (42) and his wife Polly (36), their six children: Sarah (15), Frances (13), Charles (9), Albert (6), John (4) and Elsie (1), and her paternal grandmother Rachel (71).

She married Mr. Philander S. Dibble in Feb 1863, the son of John and Nancy Dibble.

Rachel and Philander had four children: Alfred C., Matilda, Arthur and Ethel.

She died on 19 Oct 1925 in Gulf Summit, Broome Co, NY.

MRS. RACHEL E. DIBBLE

Rachel E., widow of the late Philander Dibble, died at the home of her son, Alfred Dibble, near Gulf Summit, on Monday morning, October 19th, aged 78 years. Recently Mrs. Dibble sustained a broken hip, and it was from this shock that she died.

The funeral will be held at the late home at 1 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Henry Baker of Deposit officiating. Burial in McClure cemetery.

Besides the son mentioned Mrs. Dibble is survived by two daughters.
