MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - C. Marie Burkhart. 81, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at City Hospital.

Born Nov. 9, 1920, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Bethel Unger Henry.

She was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph C. Burkhart; a daughter, Beverly J. Yeagle of Hagerstown; a son, Larry A. Burkhart of Winchester, Va.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Henry; and a sister, Ruby Reed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial prayers will be said in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401 or to St. Joseph's Parish School, 233 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, WV 25401.
