Frank Joe Benyshek, son of Joe and Anna Havel Benyshek, was born July 4,1883, on a farm near Cuba, Kansas, and died December 6, 1973, at the Belle View Manor in Belleville, at the age of 90 years, five months and two days.
He attended the Bee-Bee school east of Cuba and spent his entire life in the Cuba community.
He was united in marriage to Frances Kopsa on August 21, 1907. To this union eight children were born. The couple lived on their farm for forty years and moved into Cuba in 1947. He had been in ill health for the past four years and entered the rest home in May of this year and entered the rest home in May of this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by one daughter, Viola Beneda, on July 6, 1969, and by one sister.
Survivors include his wife Frances of the home; three daughters: Frances & Mr. Charles Rott, Leona, Mrs. Joe Skocny, both of Cuba; and Blanche, Mrs. George Splichal of Munden; four sons: Ben and his wife, Laura, Glen and his wife, Louise, Lawrence and his wife, Dorothea, and Raymond and his wife, Irene, all of Cuba; 14 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at the United Presbyterian Church in Cuba, on December 8, with the Rev. Fred Mansfield officiating. Burial was at the Kopsa Cemetery.
