Clair S. Anderson, age 94, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS. He was born in Rural Cloud County, KS on Nov. 7, 1920 to Harry S. & Gladys E. (Manning) Anderson.
Clair graduated from Clyde High School and attended Kansas State University. He served in the US Army Air Force until medically discharged. He began working at the Exchange National Bank (later called Exchange Bank of Clyde) upon his return to Clyde, working over 50 years in the bank and retiring as the bank President.
Clair married Wilda J. Graham on Dec. 28, 1946 in Clyde, KS. She preceded him on July 10, 1997.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clyde Lions Club, Elks & American Legion. Clair was an avid golfer and was a member of the Concordia Country Club and later the American Legion Golf Course, including the Men’s Golf Association. Clair was a passionate K-State fan and proud supporter of the NCK Catbackers and hardly missed a K-State home football game.
He is survived by his son, Jim Anderson (Mary), Concordia; daughter, Cheryl Larmore (Rick), Omaha, NE; grandchildren; Matthew, Jonathan & Joel Anderson; Sarah Larmore Bailey & Chelsea Larmore & great grandchild, Linnea Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda; his parents & sisters, Lois Payeur & Agnes Houdek.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm, Thurs., March 26, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Clyde with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde. Visitation will be 12-8 pm with family greeting from 6:30-8 pm, Wed., March 25, 2015 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Clyde Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home.
