Ernest Baxter died October 27, 1998 at Gig Harbor Manor Care Nursing Home at the age of 95. He was born in Belton, England Feb. 10, 1903 and moved to the U.S. in 1911 at the age of nine. He lived in Montana and worked as a boilermaker for the railroad. He relocated to Tacoma and worked with the boilermaker's union until he became a business agent. After retiring he worked part time for the Tacoma School District.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel of Gig Harbor; two step daughters, Helen Cunningham of Yuma, AZ. and Lona Gardner of Corsegold, CA. He has 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Vistation begins Friday. Noon until 9 p.m. and Saturday until service time. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday October 32, 1998 in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Arrangements by Mountian View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
