Sgt. Wm. Boddy. A civil war veteran. Co. A 92 Ill. Inf.
Aged: 75 years, 2 months, 5 days.
The remains of Mr. William Boddy, for many years a well known and highly respected citizen of this vicinity, were shipped here Monday from Fairbury, Nebraska, and laid to rest in Elliott Grove cemetery, after a short service at the grave, conducted by Rev. C. A. Bowles, of the Methodist church.
Mr. Boddy died last Friday at the home of his son, Chas. D. Boddy, at Fairbury, where they had lived since they left this vicinity, about two years ago. Mr. Boddy was about 75 years of age.
During the many years Mr. Boddy lived here he was known as one of Brunswick township's best citizens. His splendid character sterling manhood and his cheerful, congenial nature won for him the high esteem of his neighbors and friends, and marked him as a citizen of real worth to the community. He had many friends in and around Brunswick, who will regret deeply to learn of his death.

Aged 75Y 2M 15D.Funeral service held at 1309 4th St, Sunday afternoon at 4:30. Officers of Russell Fort GAR conducted ritual services at home. The remains were taken to Missouri on No. 17 that evening for interment.
