ALICEVILLE, Ala. - Margaret Ball Clay, 89, died Feb. 2, 2007, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services are today at 3 p.m. at Dogwood Chapel, 200 Fifth St., N.E., Aliceville, with the Rev. David Barrentine officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Sapps. Visitation will be today for one hour prior to services at the Chapel. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Clay was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Aliceville, to the late Sam Hood Ball Sr. and Margaret Coleman Ball. She was a retired LPN at Rush Memorial Hospital in Meridian. She moved back to Aliceville seven years ago and was a member of West End Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Lewis Strawn and Homer Clay; son, James Lewis Strawn Jr.; and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Jackson Ball Strawn and William Joseph Strawn, both of Jonesboro, Ga.; brother, Joe Lloyd Ball of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
