Jerry Thomas Abernathy, age 38, of Dallas, died Saturday, April 23 in a Cobb County Hospital.

Mr. Abernathy was born in Rockmart on December 30, 1949. He was a mechanic with Sunbeam Bakery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sharon Bennett Abernathy, Dallas; his parents, J. W. and Lucy Ward, White, Ga.; a son, Mark L. Fuller, Dallas; a daughter, Miss Angela Abernathy, Warren, Mich.; a brother, Donald Abernathy, White, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Linda Taff, Taylorsville; Mrs. Loretta Saxton and Mrs. Judy Adcock, both of Cartersville.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, at 2 p.m. in the Freeman Harris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Walter Bond and the Rev. George Barnette officiated. Interment was in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Ralph Anderson, Howard Daws, Donald Abernathy, Wayne Bass, Ronnie Taff, Bobby Formby, David Mote and Buddy Smith.

The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
