July 7, 1917 Centralia, WA "Chronicle"; "Old Pioneer Passes Away; Mrs. Francis Packwood, a pioneer resident of Lewis county, died this afternoon in a Chehalis hospital. The remains were removed to the Newell parlors pending funeral arrangements. Mrs. Packwood was 69 years of age. She was removed to the hospital about two weeks ago from her home in the Hannaford valley, near Packwood station. Mrs. Packwood is survived by her husband, Rufus Packwood, and an adopted daughter, Mrs. H.B. Ogle (Mabel) , of Hannaford."
