Lucy L. Cranston, 100, of Winfield, passed away March 11, 2010, at Winfield Rest Haven.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta

Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are to Winfield Rest Haven.

Lucy was born March 31, 1909, in Winfield, to Martin "Elmer" and Alta (Spitzer) Cranston Costin. Lucy contracted polio at age 18 months. She was unable to attended schools or completely care for herself. She lived with her parents until 1963. After their death, she moved to Winfield to live near relatives, and in 1964 she moved into Rest Haven.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Cranston, and his wife, Mildred.

She is survived by, sister, Barbara Becker, and husband, Stanley, Winfield, and their children, Paula Becker, Topeka, and Martin and Joan Becker, Omaha, Neb., and Martin's two children and three grandchildren.
