Alberta S. "Berta" Rose, 95, of Colonial Beach passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at her home, to meet the Lord and her deceased family.
Born in Strafford County to William Thomas and Alberta Shelton, Berta was a member of Colonial Beach Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert H. Rose and his wife, Beatriss, of Troy, and Ellis T. Rose and his wife, Pat, of Colonial Beach; two daughters, Barbara A. Hornbeak and her husband, Carl, of Clinton, Md. and Joyce D. Nave and her friend Calvin Norris of King George; two sisters, Clarice Jones and Elanor Sullivan, both of Stafford; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Hunter Rose; two sons, Henry T. Rose and Jerry L. Rose, and a daughter, Betty Jean Rose.
Funeral services were held Feb. 15 at Colonial Beach Baptist Church. Rev. Johnny Almond officiated. Interment followed in Historyland Memorial Park, King George.
