J. C. Davis of Davisburgh, purchased the property (Davisburg), built the grist-mill, and repaired the dam. In 1870 he sold out to Reuben and George B. McCREERY, but eventually bought it back. After George died, Caroline moved to Herkimer,NY lived with her brother a dry goods merchant in 1880. And then with her son.
