Eleva- Mrs Mathilda Johnson, 74, died Thursday at at Whitehall Community Hospital after an illness of two years.

The former Mathilda Mattson, she wa last born in Sweden On March 1, 1885, the daughter of mr and Mrs Martin Mattson and cape to this country with her parents as an infant. She was a lifelong resident of the Chimbey Rock area. In November 19, 1993 she Married Arnt Johnson who died in 1936.

She is survived by three sons: Clarence and Alfred Elroy (1997-1967) of Eleva, and Harold of Eau Claire and two daughters: Elenore (Walter T) Williamson of Eau Claire and Miss Agnes Johnson of of Eleva. Three sisters: Mrs Gus Torfelt, Mrs Gena Anderson of Minneapolis and Mrs Oswald Strand of Eleva, one brother Morris Mattson of Eleva; 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Two sons died previously.

Funeral Tuesday at East Bennett Valley Lutheran Church with Rev Jerry Kuhn officiated. Burial will be in church cemetery.
