New guidelines for obituaries

So many people have added obituaries to memorials that I manage, I was concerned and contacted the administrators and asked them if it was alright to add these either in the bio area or the photo area.

This was FindaGrave.com's response:

Greetings...

Since the move to Ancestry and the new website, newspaper obituaries, death certificates and other scanned documentation is allowed. We encourage members to move the images down to the bottom of the photo display so that they are not the first thing you see when viewing a memorial page.

Thank you,

Find a Grave Administration
.

October/November 2015: All the obituaries that were posted and most of you were "Thankful" for were Deleted from Fg. (Also deletions on September 1, 2016 = Deletions)
.
Notice: If you leave a message or request, please be specific with the Full name, dates of birth/death and also the FG Id number to help identify the person who you are writing about. ( i.e. there are dozens of James Johnsons out there in FindaGrave land). a Fg Id # is a MUST for each Request.

NOTE: You are more than welcome to use the photographs, obituaries, data and tidbits i have placed on this FG website, yes even if you put them on the Ancestry.com site; However, please put your source and where you found the item,
ie, Obituary is from the www.findagrave.com website and .A

So many have copied and pasted without giving credit of the source and where they have found the data.

Over 90+% of the data i have put on FG have come from Grandmas, Bibles, Libraries and Cemeteries, Courthouses, Churches, and other places, NOT the internet. Thanks
.
I will research Obituaries for:

Paducah, McCracken County, Ky

Mayfield, Graves County, Ky

Hickman City, Fulton County, Ky

And some other select local areas in
Western-Kentucky and other Kentucky sites
.
