I worked at Illinois State University in Normal, IL in the Dept. of History and the Dept. of Politics and Government for 23 years.

I had worked in the circus since I was 3. My parents, George and Lorraine Mather Valentine, had the Flying Valentinos flying trapeze act in the 1930s and 40s.

I belong to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, McLean County Genealogical Society, Colonial Daughters of the 17th Century, McLean County Museum of History, Circus Fans Assn of America, the Circus Historical Society, the Farmer City, IL Historical Society and a Life Member of the Clayton County, Iowa Genealogical Society.
