A member of the Permian Basin Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Midland, Texas. I am researching all 228 men who died in Vietnam from 30 West Texas Counties. Project includes finding burial sites.

I am also attempting to locate the final burial places and pictures of all Veterans who died in the Vietnam War. The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund is in the process of building a new education center which will house the photos of all Vietnam casualties. I am involved in this project. If any one has a picture of a Vietnam casualty, please let me know.

I am attempting to add memorial tributes to those Vietnam deaths as I find them at findagrave. I am using data from many sources. One of the best is www.virtualwall.org. This is a copyrighted site. I have been a 10 year contributor and assist them when and where I am asked. I am not on their staff. I have obtained permission to utilize some of their material. That permission, however, is limited and does not give other contributors the permission to copy and use that material without obtaining authorization from www.virtualwall.org.

Other sources includes Department of Defense Form 1330 headstone request information. I do not have actual copies of these requests but do have means to obtain copies from other researchers such at www.virtualwall.org and Robert Sage of Austin, Texas. This information, however, was documented a short time following the death of the service member. There have been instances where a service member was disinterred and moved to another grave site at a later date. Some of the information gives a burial locale and not a specific cemetery. In those instances, the headstone was most often delivered to the Funeral Home, or when delivered to a family member, they made their own arrangements to the set the headstone.

Other sites that I utilize is the Wall Project at www.vvmf.org. This is the actual site of the Wall. Some of the information includes other contributors who have documented information there. I attempt to give credit as I can.

Other sites include www.thewall-usa.com. Finally, I have utilized information from family, friends and acquaintances to document the Vietnam casualty's final resting place. Invaluable is the contribution of the findagrave community. These volunteers have assisted in actually locating and documenting burial sites.

There are occasionally errors and omissions, but I will correct that when I receive creditable information.
