I'm a genealogy nut. The Family Tree Maker was the first program I purchased when I got a computer. I have been working on my family tree for over 20 years now. Part of genealogy is of course, photos of headstones. I must say, my relatives thought it a bit odd that I was always after them for photo's of headstones. I have a large family that is spread throughout the United States, and the only way to get a photo was through someone else's kindness. I came across this web site while searching the web for a Uncle, his name popped up on findagrave. Not even his children knew what had happened to him. Nobody had heard from him in years. I put in a request for a photo of his headstone and within two days some one had fulfilled that request….WOW…. I was able to let my cousins know where their Dad was and show them a picture of his headstone…. Right then and there I decided I needed to share all the information that I had gathered through the years about the resting places of my relatives and ancestors. I was really touched, that a stranger would take the time to do a favor for someone they didn't even know. I was able to fill a request for someone the very next week. I try to keep a watch for requests of cemeteries close to my home.
