Bio

Elaine began her genealogy adventure at the young age of fifteen as she began collecting photos, printed articles and other genealogically interesting information that she organized into scrapbooks. Later she began using the standard genealogy forms and kept completed tree information in three ring binders.

Jim was not so organized as a youngster, but did listen to many a story about recent ancestors. After we married, Jim got the bug, but in a different way. He preferred keeping the information in computer files. He was an early adopter of Family Tree Maker and has grown with it over the years. Elaine and Jim have over eleven thousand names in their joint trees and enjoy fertilizing the trees every chance they get.

We have hit the obvious brick walls of computerdom and then hit the road visiting cemeteries, libraries, courthouses and homes of newly found relatives. It is a delightful journey putting together the puzzling fabric of our families and understanding ourselves a bit better in the process. For sure, we have many ancestors to thank for letting us stand on their strong shoulders of effort and vision as they lived their lives.

Then we found FindAGrave and, though we have taken only a few photographs, we are finding great fun in connecting our families' members into a interesting family web, on the web.

We want to thank those who started, and maintain, FindAGrave for their vision and efforts. It is a joy to find and honor those who came before us and a reminder for us to leave a legacy as well.
