Bio

The adults in this daguerreotype are Samuel Franklin Bartol, (1813-1873); and Mary Ridgeway (Horsman) Bartol, (1810-1879). They are my Great-Great Grandparents. The baby on his mother's lap, is Charles Frederick Bartol (1850-1913). I'm going to guess he's about 2. That means the daguerreotype is therefor dated about 1851. The other children are: Charlotte Josephine Bartol (1839-1897), is the oldest child, age about 13.Sarah Russell (Bartol) Kipp, (1842-1895), is about age 10. Samuel Franklin Bartol (1844-1896), on the right, is age 8.Thomas Russell Bartol (1846-1909), on the left is my Great Grandfather. He would have been about age 6. They had at least two other children that died before 1851 and would therefore not be in the photo. They are: Charles Edward, 1846-1848, age about 3, and Mary Ellen Ridgeway, 1837-1840, age about 3.
