Bio

Hi, my name is Tiffany and I live in Virginia Beach, VA.

I have been fascinated by old cemeteries my entire life and have dabbled in genealogy since early 2000. I love old grave markers because they have a story to tell; they have character. These markers should be treasured and celebrated, yet far too many have not faired well over the years.

I've been photographing grave markers for years and am now getting around to posting them all. I will post whatever photos I have, regardless if someone else has already posted photos or not. I hope this doesn't offend any other photo takers - I am doing this so the next time my hard drive crashes at least all my hard work is documented somewhere! I'm on my 4th or 5th computer if that is any indication...

I live in Virginia, but my favorite cemeteries lies in the heart of Louisville. I tend to take photos of markers around those which I am looking for myself. I am partial to older stones that will likely fade over time, long-forgotten or poorly managed lots, and those of military veterans. I am happy to hunt for photo requests, but many people in my locality are able to get to them more quickly than myself.

Anyway, much of my research success can be attributed to the kindness of others and the efforts of people like myself who take the time to make their own information available on the Internet. I hope my effort will somehow "return the favor."
