Bio

My major areas of interest are in tracing the genealogy of the Bugbee family. My family tree on Ancestry.com as the Kraiser-Fish Family tree under the usernane Jensclauseniv1. My husband's tree is the Clausen family tree and I do research on both trees.

I am always on the lookout for new, as yet undiscovered Bugbee family listings and photos so if anyone finds any in the course of their searches, I will be quite pleased to learn of any new information and share what I know.

Primarily, I want to express my real gratitude for all the information, photos and help that have been so generously given by everyone contributing to Find-A-Grave. I know many people work very hard at this and their efforts have immensely enhanced the quality of genealogical research in general and are a priceless resource to those wishing to honor and preserve the memories of their loved ones. I cannot say enough good things about how this site has been an academically and personally gratifying resource for me. Thanks again to all who have contributed to make Find-A-Grave the good thing that it is.

And I must say that if anyone is dissatisfied with my actions or has a suggestion of what I might do in the future to be more "rule compliant" or generally courteous, I welcome your constructive criticism. Hopefully it will be more constructive and not just criticism. We all act with varying degrees of experience and ethics so "stuff happens". There is definitely a learning curve. If there is anything I can do to correct a problem, I will certainly listen and try to do so.

I do have a lot to say about the debate over the use of the photos Find-A-Grave, primarily on Ancestry.com.

PLEASE NOTE - When fulfilling a photo request I have submitted. Thank you for your help and your contributions to Find-A-Grave. I appreciate your efforts. I also appreciate your right to determine the subsequent use of your photos so please be aware that I wish to use this photo on Ancestry.com (with a photo credit to you, phrased as you prefer). If you do not wish me to do so, out of respect for my time and effort, please consider NOT fulfilling this request. Thanks.

Personally, I'm of the free use mentality. I give permission for anyone to use my photos and the information I have added to the site and written to people. I appreciate but do not expect or demand credit, and am glad to add to the knowledge base of the general academic community. That said, I do recommend that it is a good and courteous habit to generally give credit for photos taken by others for the goodwill and trust factor in that community in general, and to reduce the incidents of being confronted by other potentially disgruntled contributors, but in my opinion, that is for you to decide.

As a matter of disclosure regarding my use of other people’s photos, I have been systematically going through my family tree on Ancestry.com and really checking each photo to be sure of the preferences of each person who submitted a photo regarding the use of their photos. Its been a very tedious process. Fortunately, it seems most people are glad to share their photos, for which I am particularly glad. Lots of people do not have bios or do not comment one way or the other on the use of their photos. Some people take a very possessive stance about their photos. I suppose their work has been misused in the past, inasmuch as what I may have done when I didn't know better, and probably in worse ways by others. In any case, I am checking them all and being sure they are all properly credited, the majority of which are at this point.

It may not prevent all possible complaints and may spark others, but at least I believe it is the right thing to do and I hope would help ease people’s attitudes. I do want to set a good example as it is helpful to everyone to share information with a generous and grateful, professional attitude. And I hope it helps diffuse some of the wrath of the people who I may have offended over the years when I was a careless libertine.

Thank you for listening to my soap box lecture and if I can help you at all with this or any other issue, please let me know.
