Cristy, thank you for creating such a nice memorial for such a nice memorial for Harry Arnold Raasch. The one error are his parents. Harry's parents were Herman Raasch and Bertha Schultz, as were stated in his obit. He is listed as a son to Herman Raasch and Bertha Urban. Harry lived in Milwaukie and Waukesha counties, and a quick check on Ancestry found him with his father Herman who was born in Minnesota, and mother Bertha who was born in Wisconsin. The Herman and Bertha he is linked as a son to were born in Wisconsin and Germany, respectively. Is there a way to unlink Harry from Herman (1760-1938) and Bertha Urban (1865-1934) Raasch?

|MrsB||RE: Wanted to explain myself|
I don't see you as picking on anybody--you and I want to see the best memorials left for these people, so that future descendants and generations can know about their history.
I appreciate and will add much of what I am sent, trying to give credit where I can. However, I also ask people to "take one more look"--sometimes I have added too much, or have given credit where people wished to remain anonymous. One man from Denmark suggested I remove the bit about somebody who traveled to America, married and had children here having left a wife and child back in the old country. He was a descendant of that first marriage, but wanted to avoid heartache for descendants of the 2nd marriage.

Your cousin definitely had the experience then, to know the right words.
Small world. Same name. Same genreal area. ;>
Helping my "aunt" with her genealogy; think that's how this convo started. With a relationship link request.
Take care, Cristy. Maybe I'll run across you again with one of her other relatives....that was an in-law link. :)

Thanks! I've always struggled how to put it all into words and she did so perfectly!

Thanks for the edit (for my aunt) I really like how well-put the words are, that your relative wrote, that you posted on your profile.

|Ron Rader||Please don't transfer|
Please don't transfer memorials to me. I am trying to get rid of as many memorials as I can get rid of. There are a few I want to keep, but I will eventually quit doing FindaGrave and will only respond to changes and additions on the memorials I have left.

|Ron Rader||Message Board|
Sorry about my message board being turned off. There is an idiot who has been bothering me and I don't want her posting nasty messages. My e-mail is on my profile. Or do as you did and just send an FYI message through the memorial.

|Ron Rader||Estella Pennington|
Go ahead and put yours in to Oak Grove. I will work around your info. I will consolidate my three Unknowns into one memorial and have them point to yours--by putting a link in my Unknown bio section. When we discover which of the unknown memorials are actually Estella's, I will then delete mine and add my photo to your memorial. Does that sound okay to you?

|MrsB||McCarty edits--thank you!|
I appreciate these--I have added cemetery plots (I have access to a cemetery book) and am looking things up on the National Archives. That was a sad ending for Dennis.

This is a bit of a strange one. Riverview Abbey's records indicate that his cremains are interred in Carnation Corridor, South Wall, Urn Section, Tier 5, along with those of James and Salome Lawrence. As the photo shows, there is no visible urn in the niche. Maybe his cremains were physically placed into one of the Lawrence urns. Who knows?
To your knowledge, was Floyd Rice related to James and Salome Lawrence? This would certainly explain why his ashes are interred with them.
I hope this helps. One suggestion: you could call Riverview Abbey and ask for the staff to reconfirm this information. If it's in error, let me know and I'll take down the picture.

I believe you are correct with St. Mary's Cemetery. After reading about the added parishes thru the years (http://saintjoeparish.org/about), I would assume she attended St. Joseph's Parish, but her family is buried at St. Mary's Cemetery. In 1900, there was a church called Ferndale Catholic Church. Is it still there? Or has the name been changed? The Roman Catholics have a history of keeping excellent records.

Her husband John Thomas Gray b. 12 Aug. 1879, died Feb. 10, 1942 should be in the same cemetery.
Did you happen to find a marker for him?

Christy thank you thank you for the transfers. I appreciate your work so much, and having done some similar work at a cemetary near my home I know how rewarding it is. It's literally the opposite of morbid, it is a joyeous thing to keep the memory of ancestors alive. Thank you again. If I may ever repay the lovely gesture in some way it would be my honor and pleasure. Most sincerely, JAX, a fellow "grave walker"
