Some of those older tombstones do not photograph all that well, so I did what I could to make them better with Paint Shop.

I am going to Lubbock tomorrow and plan to stop in the Fairview (Amherst) Cemetery on the way down there and photograph the east facing side of several grave markers while they are in the sun. That way I get a better photo for the memorials. Hers is one I plan to shoot again. So, hopefully, there will be a better photo on the memorial within a few days.

RE: 14413931
Yes, that appears to be because there are two different families being combined.

I'll have to dig further into it when I complete my current project or, if I can find someone with a closer relation to the family, can pass this on to them to correct.

I'll get back to this and thanks!

RE: 14413931
I've found a reference to birth for an Elizabeth Symons born 5 Aug 1743 in Pasquotank NC.

Is it possible the date on the headstone is 1743 not 1734?

RE: 14413931
Thats good to know, being on the headstone makes this much easier.

It's not surprising you've received conflicting requests, every tree on ancestry has many members of this family completely incorrect.

Do you happen to know which members made the requests? Maybe they can figure this out knowing these are probably different persons.

Thanks for your quick reply!

Elizabeth Aldrich

I believe there were two William Aldrdge's both married to an Elizabeth all living in North Carolina at the time of death.

One Elizabeth is definitly a Symon's but I don't believe it was this one. I haven't found a birth record or any info for her yet. One was born in North Carolina (Symons) and the other (this one) I believe was born in Maryland.

The birth and death dates for the two William's and the two Elizabeth's are different.

Can you tell me how you arrived at the birth and death dates for this Elizabeth and, any other info you may have?

Thanks, MJ

Thank you for your kindness.

Here is an example of how I post your tombstone photographs in my private FTM file:

Hello Sharon:

Please consider this a request to copy and use your photograph of the tombstone of my cousin Aquilla YORK (1818 NC - 1876 IN). There most likely are several others in the Center Valley Cemetery. Several members of my family migrated from my native Randolph County, North Carolina in the early 1800's to pioneer Indiana.

Your kind consideration will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You, Dennis York Find A Grave #47405652

Foil photo request
Hi Sharon! Hope you've been well! I stopped by St. James's cemetery the other day to locate Mrs. Foil's marker for you… there's not been a footstone like her husband's added yet. Actually there's very little room to do so the way the plot is situated. But the family may find a way. If it's okay with you .. I'll add the photo that I have showing her burial plot and marker. I'll keep and eye out and see if they add a footstone and let you know. She was a teacher when I was in school… everyone loved her! Take care! Dana

Pris Santos
Infant Daughter Walton and Jack Walter
Hi Sharon:
I saw your photo requests for these two at Pine Hill Cemetery and after many months of looing, I came across the city cemetery's search website and don't find these two listed based on last name and death date. If you have other records indicating burial here, you may wish to contact the cemetery for a burial location. After looking, would it be appropriate for you to list the burial as unknown? Whatever you think is appropriate. Best regards.

I have added a copy of his obit to the listing. I found it in a stack of newspaper clippings that I got from an aunt who helped clean out a house in Columbia, Tn.

Jesse Riggs
Article I happen to have --
Jesse Riggs -one of the oldest settlers of the county, died at his home southwest of BERWICK January 12, 1891, the result of injuries received about a week before. While he was helping drive several colts into the barn at his place one of them struck him and knocked him down on the frozen ground. Three of his ribs were broken, and the lining of his lungs was pierced by one of the bones. He was eighty-three years old and did not possess the strength to recover. His burial was in the cemetery at BERWICK.

Just thought if you didn't have this you might be interested in it.

Mae Terry headstone photo and location
Thank you, Sharon! My name is Sharon as well, and I am Mae Terry's grand daughter. I have been trying to find out where she ended up as her obit. said she was buried in Clyde Park, but I cannot find her there. I was unable to attend her funeral as I was out of state for my job the year she passed. Now that i know I will have to go look for her when I next get to Livingston.

RE: James Gryder
I was happy to be able to get this photo for you. I have a map for this cemetery, and it helps tremendously that you usually have a plot number listed with your photo requests. I will get some more photos for you in a few days. I will also try to get some info on Henry Moose as well.
