Photo Request
I see you have a photo request in for a Clara in Wayside CEmetery in Barron, WI. I am currently photographing all markers in that cemetery. So far I have taken about 2800 pix and will get another 1500-1800 next Monday. Hope to have over 6000 pix by the time we leave in November for winter in Sun City West. I will likely have that pix but need a last name to make it a bit easier to find. I doubt anyone is going to look for a stone without a last name in a cemetery that big. Hope I can help.

You're very welcome. I forgot to include the fact that I added a picture of the headstone to Raymond Avery's memorial page also.

That's OK--we all mix up names now and again! Just had my family reunion the other day and had to re-state things a couple of times because, with a dozen people all asking questions at the same time, I garbled some answers. lol Have a great day!

Deb, I am not sure that your 2nd great-grand-uncle is truly related to this family. I'd be interested in your sources.

In the family info that has come down to us, Emma Lavinia Sreeves was married twice, first to a John T. Foster and second to Leander A. Hesse. Her oldest 2 daughters came from her first marriage. Those children were Grace May Foster (who married Frank Schnoor) and Doris Foster (who married Ernest Benning).

Certainly, as you stated in your previous message, GRACE was NOT married to any John Foster. Her one and only husband was Frank Schnoor. My grandfather (Grace's youngest uncle) was present at their wedding and remained their closest friend throughout their lives.

Again, I'd be interested in your sources....

We have NO information on John T. Foster. Could you please share with us? I know that Emma's great-grandchildren and the other family members would be ecstatic! My email address is

RE: Grace Foster Schnoor
HI, Deb!
Now I'm curious! You mentioned "Aunt Emma (Sreeves) Hesse". Grace is her oldest child; both Grace and her younger sister Doris were born to the marriage between Emma Sreeves and John T. Foster, which occurred about 1893, I believe either in Michigan or in Omaha, NE. (The Sreeves family moved from MI to NE about this time.)

Grace May Foster was born in Omaha in 1894; Doris was born in Scott Count in 1896. The story is that at that time their father ran off to Alaska; I don't know if this is true. Emma and the girls were with her parents and her youngest siblings in Wooster, Ohio in 1900, but then she seems to have gone back to Scott Co., where she married Leander Augustus Hesse on 18 November, 1907.

By the 1910 census Grace was working for a neighboring family in the Allen Grove area. She married Frank Schnoor on 16 April, 1916. are you related to Aunt Emma? She was my step-great-aunt. Her youngest brother, Earl, married my grandmother in 1933.

Shackelford's of Wright County
Can you please transfer all of the Shackelford names you manage from Wright County. I am trying to get all of them linked so the siblings and parents will group on their memorials.

I am a direct decendant of George Washington "Wash" Shackelford.

Thanks for the heads up about the duplicate. I have notified the person who entered the other memorial and asked her to include my information on her entry as her information was much accurate and complete. Once that is accomplished, then I will delete my entry.
I appreciate your notice.

I checked with the cemetery office yesterday and they said they have no record of this person buried there. The company that runs the cemetery is the 3rd owner and they told me earlier records were kept on index cards so if the card was mis-filed, it will be almost impossible to find. I tried :(

RE: Darius Sutherland
Thank you so much! Darius Sutherland was lost in that my grandparents only knew he was 'somewhere in Missouri'. In the late 1890s, he was prospecting for gold in the Ozarks and someone killed him probably for his gold. Through your kindness, I hope to link him now with his wife and family in Iowa. Cheers from a descendant of the William & Hannah (Avery) Sutherland clan.

The date of the tombstone shows a birthdate of Jan 6, 1826, yet you listed her birthyear as 1823. Any particular reason?

If it helps, she was born in Tennessee.
