RE: Thomas J. Coggin
Hi Mary,
Has Thelma passed away? Are you now the owner of the family tree?
Iím not sure what information I sent to Thelma. Do you have my book, Last Train to El Paso--the mysterious unsolved murder of a cattle baron? It is a history of activities of Thomas Jefferson Coggin in connection with James B. Miller from 1894 to Millerís lynching on April 19, 1909 and beyond in detail up to late February 1918. If you do not have it you can order a signed copy at

RE: Thomas J. Coggin
Hi Thelma,

I am the author of Last Train to El Paso--the mysterious unsolved murder of a cattle baron. The book is nonfiction--western history. It is about the murder of Thomas Lyons, owner of the largest ranch in the US in 1917 when he was murdered in El Paso by conspirators, two of whom were your relatives, Thomas Jefferson Coggin and Caswell Millard Coggin. I will be speaking about them at the Wild West History Association annual conference in Fort Worth on July 13.

I was once married into the Lawrence family and remember Glayds being so nice to me and my son. I was wondering about her daughter. I can't remember her name, but would like to contact her. Its been a long time. Thank you.

A source, please
I saw that you left a memorial on the Find A Grave Memorial (#50520566) page for Admiral Robert Bentham Simons, who commanded the USS Raleigh (CL-7) during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I wonder if you have a source for a photo of the man. The reason I want it is because my father, Frank John Zwolinski, Sr. served under him on the Raleigh and I am writing a story of my father's career. If you have any source for me I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you in advance,
Frank, Jr.

I had no idea that Thelma had passed away. We photographed several of the Parker family grave sites here in SE Arizona. Some of these are in very remote areas near the border. I understand that the Parkers were homesteaders and must have been some tough folks. God bless you Thelma! You were so patient with me when we had difficulty finding a grave out in old Apache country. You are home now. Mary Russell, your name is the same as my maiden name. I'm now doing research on the clan from Browning, Sullivan County, MO. Any connection to your family?

Leland B. Coggin
Are you kin to the Leland B. Coggin... Find A Grave memorial #3967915 ? I ask because I was trying to associate Mary Louise Furr Coggin (memorial # 14755554) to her husband's memorial. My grand-aunt Eunice Mae Furr Morris was a sister to Louise.

Thelma May You Rest In Peace
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Palms Memorial Park
Just to let you know this cemetery does not have an office so in order to find a grave location you would have to contact the funeral homes in the area. Also, When I was out there last (January this year)looking for graves that folks had requested a photo for that some had passed in 2010 still did not have markers and/or stones were still yet to be transcribed with date of death. AND, this cemetery is not small by any means. Not as big as most but very spacious.

God Bless,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I want to thank you for the info about Affordable Markers. I did get on their website and then called the cemetery. As you said, the marker is only $238 but I also have to have a foundation which is another $148.

My mother lives in Kendallville and so does my brother. I live just south of them in Avilla. If your mother-in-law is active in senior programs, she may know my mother. She goes to Council on Aging, Youth Center and sometimes to the Legion. She was also at the Senior Prom last Saturday night so she may run into her somewhere.

Thanks again.

Rebekah Kambara
WV Veterans Memorial Project
My name is Rebekah Kambara and I am currently working on a Memorial project to help preserve the memory and history of World War II Veterans (specifically from West Virginia). The information for these veterans will go in an online database so that these veterans and their history will not be forgotten. I am looking for any information you may have to offer on Clinton M. Hendrick, I noticed you posted a flower for him on the find a grave website so I was hoping that you might know something about him, perhaps you know some of his family members, or you have heard stories of him? Maybe if you know someone who is associated you could relay me their information. Anything would help! If you have any sort of information you would like to share on Clinton M.Hendrick it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Here is more information on the project, if you are interested:

RE: Cordie Turner
Hello this is Damon I called Fairmount today to see if Cordie Turner was there. They have no record of her at Spokane memorial Garden. Nor Greenwood or Riverside or Woodlawn and Pines nor Fairmount. I called Holy Cross cemetery she is not out there nor at Saint Joseph. If you can find out what funeral home that did the service they might be able to tell you were she is at. Thanks Damon

RE: Cordie Turner
Hello this is Damon I removed the photo from Cordie Turner. But the cemetery has 3 listing for Turner Eugene Burford. Turner Randy Van. And a Turner but it was not cordie I took the picture of the marker thinking there was a misspelling. Thank you Damon

Could you transfer Charles and Frances then? They are my Great Great Grandparents and my Aunts Great Grandparents who I am working with on the family genealogy. We have a direct blood line to them.

Thank you,
