I live in Australia and have long been fascinated by the American Civil War.
I have collected Civil War memorabilia for over 55 years.
In 1979, I purchased some memorabilia from the 117th. New York Infantry, which led to my interest in the regiment.
I have been obsessively collecting memorabilia, surfing the web and FAG for any mentions to add to my research files.
Thanks to many kind FAG volunteers, I have been able to request dozens of photographs to add to my Virtual Cemetery of members of the regiment.
I am currently adding names to the list. I have added over 1,400 so far.
I still have about 400 veterans to locate.
To be able to achieve all this half a world away from the action, is simply unbelievable.
If anyone has a relative who served in the 117th., or any information, I would be most happy to hear from you.
I am currently adding 40 years of research to my FAG pages, including many photographs, biographies, obituaries etc.
I hope they will add substance to the history of the 117th New York Infantry.
All additions can be downloaded and used by any member of the FAG family.
