UPDATE from Andrea Brangan
I would like to Thank everyone on Find-A-Grave for everything. I just signed on and see our page is a Memorial Page for Steve. How wonderful! He did most of the work with Find-A-Grave. He pulled up the requests, mapped everything out, found the headstones, and I would take a lot of the pictures and he would post them. We were a team. We both loved gravin'. Steve loved to help people and Find-A-Grave gave him the opportunity to do that. I think it is part of what kept him going. When Steve was diagnosed with cancer he was Stage 4. We didn't know until his hospitalization in August that the life span of someone with his diagnosis was 20 months or less. I am glad they never told him that when he was diagnosed! He survived almost 3 years! He was a fighter I'll tell you! And the love of my life. I don't know how I will go on without him but he wanted me to so I will with the grace of God, prayers, and a good support system. In June we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We loved the Smokies so we got a cabin for a week. While we were there I arranged to have our vows renewed. Steve told everyone about that. It was so special! And I didn't even think of this - 25 years - silver. But Steve did. He got me the most beautiful antique jewelry box. It was all tarnished and he polished it all up and it is beautiful.
Please continue to keep our family in your prayers and thoughts. Steve was an awesome guy! And he had the best sense of humor! Steve's email is listed as a contact above and I don't have his password to retrieve emails so if anyone wants to email me please feel free to email me at: [email protected]
My thanks to everyone! Andrea Brangan

I am the Spotter and Andrea is the driver! I started working on my genealogy about 11 years ago. In August 2010 a friend told us about Find-A-Grave and we got hooked! I had been diagnosed with colon cancer in Nov. 2009 and am on disability and "gravin" has given me a way to get out of the house, get some exercise, and help people out! We haven't done too bad since we started - to date we have over 2000
headstones we've found for people. I enjoy working with the people I have met at the cemeteries (the ones above ground!) And knowing that we are helping people who otherwise would not be able to get access to photos of their loved ones is great! As for Andrea ~ she has a fulltime job and is limited on the time she can help ~ but she enjoys "gravin" too. It gives us a chance to spend "quality" time together. I had cataract surgery so I am the "Spotter" of the headstones while she is the "Driver" to, from, and around the cemteries.
