I was born in Newman in 1972 and lived there for a short time while my dad was working on site as a powder monkey. 4 years later moved to built house in Rockingham and started my schooling there. Never really knew my father that well as he used to work away for a whole year each year and only flew back to Perth on his 4 week holidays every year. So basically my mum was my mum and dad in one.
Anyhow I have followed my fathers footsteps now and I myself am currently in the mining game based at Yandi 90km away from Newman but my kids are fortunate because they get to see me more often than I used to see my father. I am on a 2/1 roster fifo Perth and I am married to a beautiful caring wife and have 2 great teenage sons to carry on the Sakiri name.
