Bio

I have been interested in genealogy since about 1995. I live in Mount Airy, North Carolina. I believe this website to be a valuable tool to amateur and professional genealogists if used with the "trust but verify" mentality.

I add memorials to cemeteries where I have personally walked and photographed each headstone/marker. If you find one of my memorials without a photo, please be patient. I am adding them as I can. If you would like for me to add it more quickly, please just go through the normal photo request option.

I do my best not to duplicate memorials. I index my photos and add the names as inscribed on the headstone/marker to the cemeteries in which I find them. I may edit that information later as I find additional data. I do not feel it necessary for me to arbitrarily delete a memorial that I created if you move a memorial into that cemetery after the fact and don't disclose that information. This is FIND a Grave.

If you have created a memorial and had it in a different cemetery or a virtual cemetery in lieu of finding the correct cemetery, simply say so and I will be happy to delete mine and add any photos I have to your memorial if needed.

My lines include the Killoughs (mostly Mississippi) and Wolfes (Tennessee and Texas) on my mother's side and Johnson's and Stancliff's (mostly from the Philadelphia/South Jersey areas).

My wife's lines include the Hiatt's that have been in the Surry County, NC area for about 200 years.

Feel free to use any of my photos.
