it was the entry in the burial register that made me think there was a stone. It says 'A59 stone'

Denis this is a wonder thing that you do, to show us where our ancestors lie and that were cared for at the time to be given a headstone and some very loving words.

Thank you very much

Thanks for trying to find his stone.

According to cemetery records, he was buried there (apparently next to an oak tree), but appears that this soldier still hasn't recieved a grave marker, almost a 100 years after his death! Hopefully I can find out who to contact to fix this oversight.

Thank you for drawing this to my attention. In fact, the date of death was the 16th. June, but I expect you meant the date of birth, which does, indeed, seem to be the 10th. November.

Because His Lordship is (quite rightly) classified as a Famous person, I can't change this myself, but am going to have to write to the administrators and ask them to do it.

I have a few other things I need to ask them about, so I shall make sure I write to them within the next few days.

Dear Denis,

Thank you for reminding me that Telstar had been filmed, as well as staged. I have now added this to the biography.

I saw half of the film on the B.B.C. last Saturday night, as I imagine you did, too. Unfortunately, I had been out walking all day and was falling asleep, so I gave up while the tale was still relatively upbeat. I may try to find a copy of it on D.V.D., however.

You might like to know that, last Autumn, I was in Newent and I found the graves of Meek's parents, who are buried in the same cemetery as he. When I get a minute, I'll add those to Find a Grave.

All the best,

Iain.
